              Who am I? I'm an Alberta born, fourth generation rancher living within sight of the Porcupine Hills and the Highwood and Livingstone Ranges of the Rocky Mountains . My wife and I own a small herd of Black Angus based beef cattle and live not far off of Highway 2 in Southern Alberta .             Because we're a small operation, I've worked off-ranch for several years to supplement our income. I drive a truck for a local company that hauls ag commodities for surrounding farms and ranches. This includes grain, fertilizer, livestock feed such as hay and bulk feeds, and livestock itself.               When you're looking at the Freedom balance sheet afforded you by virtue of being in a Democratic society, you really should be looking at both sides of the ledger. In your list of freedoms and liberties, how many are "Freedom froms" and how many are "Freedom tos"?             The difference? Putting your community and country before yourself by demonstrating your civic duty to preserve and protect your family, community, and country is an example of your freedom to be a moral citizen.               There are different kinds of unvaccinated people. It's important not to lump them all into one category.             Some people are advised not to get the vaccine. Those who's doctors have determined that their state of health might be compromised by the vaccination due to medical issues. It is these people who rely on the concept of herd immunity to reduce the possibility of exposure. Many of the medical issues that they have that make the vaccine hazardous also put them at extreme risk of severe illness should they contract Covid 19.             Some people are genuinely afraid of the vaccine. Unfortunately their fears stem from the constant barrage of misinformation that conflates those fears.               I'm struggling with the ground-swell of opposition to government mandated restrictions put in place to stifle the spike in COVID-19 infections. I understand people's reluctance in complying with measures that are at the very least inconvenient and at most financially crippling. Not to mention the level of stress associated with a wholesale societal change that tinkers with the mental health of all affected.             A huge portion of the population seems to consider being infected with COVID-19 as being a lower risk than the economic consequences stemming from the virus. Another significant portion is convinced that the threat of the virus is just a ploy to allow governments to assume control and that they will never relinquish that control. It's the deepest sort of insult to actual Patriots that you call yourself a patriot for what you think you're doing by regurgitating your conspiratorial vomit. You toss labels like 'Nazi', 'Fascist', 'Communist', 'Dictatorship', 'Oppression', and 'Tyranny' around like you really know what they mean. You claim that you're being betrayed, stifled, mislead, and lied to by people who have made it their life's work and passion to collect knowledge in a particular field. You belittle and insult those who've risen to serve in politics because they wish to give of themselves for their communities.
